Hi! I'm Karina. I love photographing weddings + special moments throughout the East Coast! I'm happily married to my best friend and I LOVE love. I'm overjoyed to share these beautiful love stories with you!

Hi, I'm Karina.

City Hall + DUMBO // NYC Elopement Photographer

Julia and Evan secretly eloped in NYC!!! + I’m so happy to have been a part of their NYC elopement! When Julia first emailed me, I could tell that she’s all about the details and an organized, Type A  lady! She had links to the dress she’ll wear, a few ideas for locations, and a beaming enthusiasm for their elopement and honeymoon! She even started an instagram with their marriage and travel highlights for friends and family to follow along!

How did these lovebirds meet? You’ll want to read this one!!

“I walked into a board meeting for an organization that we were both passionate about with a pile of sweets to share with others on the board. Suddenly, I heard someone utter the words, “Are you an angel?!” I only found out years later that this mystifying person was no other than Evan Fisher! Those were his first words to me…makes for a great story, right?

Fate somehow brought us together when I sat right next to him that day. We were paired together for an activity that revolved around using M & M candy as though they were money — the goal was to allocate M & M’s to programs that we felt should be funded the most; things like ending hunger, ending poverty, funding for Holocaust survivors, education, and more. It was at our discretion to allocate the candies accordingly. “Wonderful!” I though to myself, “This is exactly what I do for a living — I plan how to strategically and sustainably fund things!” It was all perfect in my head and by my calculations. Very Type A.  Just as I was getting ready to place the M & M’s by each program that I carefully selected and planned for, I turned around to see that Evan was slowly, but surely, consuming the M & M’s we had been given. Chocolate all over his face and M & M’s disappearing one at a time. “This guy! Who the hell does he think he is?!” I said to myself.

Apparently he was the love of my life…”

Yay! How did he propose?

“It was a rainy day in September (both of Julia’s favorite things). We walked through Central Park which was suddenly empty and quiet. All that was heard was the sound of droplets softly descending upon the trees in the park. Evan took me over a bridge and under a tree. And with the background noise of rustling leaves and gentle raindrops, he asked me to marry him. We celebrated by having a slice of pizza and going to Big Gay Ice Cream”

Don’t you almost feel like you were there? I love their sweet story!

After a quick civil ceremony at City Hall on Worth Street, where these two officially tied the knot, we took portraits along the white marble stairs in downtown Manhattan. I love these classic courthouse steps for NYC elopement photos and Julia + Evan look amaaazing! I just love her beautiful dress and shoes! (And of course Evan’s perfectly coordinated suit and socks!!)

We then went toward DUMBO in Brooklyn. I personally love DUMBO engagements + weddings because there are so many great and picture-worthy locations to walk through! Julia grew up in Brooklyn and spent a lot of her days in lower Manhattan during that time so these locations were just perfect for their elopement! I love all of the sweet moments by Jane’s Carousel especially! It’s rarely open when I shoot there and I’m so happy they were able to ride it!

This was one of my last sessions shooting pregnant (8 months along!) with baby Joshua, so I had my extra-sweet husband with me to assist and carry my things! + It really felt like we were on a fun double date the whole time!!

Julia and Evan flew to Paris literally the next day after their elopement! They had beautiful photos taken in Julia’s gorgeous wedding dress and Evan’s tuxedo throughout the landmarks there as well!! What a dream!

Julia and Evan, I love these photos and memories with you!! Congratulations again on your marriage! I can’t wait to follow along with all of your life milestones! Xoxo
