The Central Park reservoir was a perfect location for this surprise marriage proposal! Alison and Geoff are the sweetest! They’re both New Yorkers who moved to Michigan and coincidently met there! They had a spark right away and it hasn’t faded one bit!
Geoff had this spot specifically chosen for the proposal, as it is Alison’s favorite spot in New York. She used to live a few blocks from Central Park and come here to take in the view of the reservoir and the skyline. Geoff even showed me images of them in this spot from their last trip to New York!
How he asked!
They arrived in the park hand in hand and looked out into the horizon, holding each other and taking in the view. Geoff took out his phone and played ‘shallow’ as he began saying sweet words to Alison. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Yes, there were tears. It was beautiful. And she said yes!
It was perfect end-of-the-summer weather for walking in the park.
Throughout chatting with Geoff, it was clear that he is a romantic, loves Alison deeply and wanted to make this moment as special as possible.
We walked around the reservoir and their love shined. She spoke about her surprise and how much she loves her new ring. Somehow, it’s just what she pictured.
I’m so happy to have been a part of their proposal story. It truly was a beautiful moment, carefully planned and properly taken in. Even after we said our goodbyes, Geoff and Alison stood by the El Dorado and lovingly held each other. You can tell they’re going to have an amazing life together. Oh and there’s talk of a puppy entering their lives later this year!
I can’t wait to follow along with their love story! What a great way to remember Labor Day Weekend in NYC!
