As an NYC proposal photographer, I’ve been so lucky to be a part of some amazing love stories in my favorite city! There’s nothing quite like capturing the perfect moment when a sweet couple decides to spend the rest of their lives together. Between the gorgeous parks, iconic buildings, and stunning skylines, there are so many great places to propose in NYC! I’m so excited to share some of my absolute favorite proposal locations!
Central Park Proposal
You truly can’t get more classic than Central Park. There is an endless number of picture-perfect spots to choose from! The beauty of the Gapstow Bridge makes it an ideal location to propose, especially if you have a proposal photographer hidden away and capturing the moment like Tyler did when he proposed to Becky! The reservoir is another stunning location and was the perfect backdrop when Geoff asked Alison to marry him. Kenneth and Sarit took the prettiest proposal photos at the Bethesda Terrace after their Bow Bridge proposal. I also love proposals set up as picnics or on the boulders in front of the gorgeous cityscape. When Ramiro proposed to Linda, the city skyline looked so incredible in their photos! You really can’t go wrong when it comes to a Central Park proposal!
Brooklyn Bridge Proposal
The Brooklyn Bridge is one of my favorite places to capture both proposals and engagement photos! Early in the morning is the perfect time for photos: the light is soft as the sun rises and the bridge is less crowded. Cherie and Joel’s engagement shoot reminded me what a gorgeous spot the Brooklyn Bridge is for love story photos. And Donnie surprised Rachel when he turned their Brooklyn Bridge photoshoot into a proposal! It was so sweet when he proposed to her on the waterfront with the stunning bridge in the background! It was especially surprising because she scheduled the couples session for their NYC vacation!
Grand Central Station Proposal
Grand Central Station is one of those iconic NYC locations that has an amazing story all its own. I was so excited when Michael decided to propose to Alyssa amidst the hustle and bustle of some of the most beautiful architecture in New York!
Downtown NYC Proposal Spots
I love finding unique places to propose downtown. There’s so much cool architecture and lots of amazing views! Tyler proposed to Kim at Pier 25 in Hudson River Park and it was the perfect location for NYC proposal photos! The Oculus is another incredible place to propose in NYC with its stunning design. I loved capturing Nicole and Alex’s engagement photos at the Oculus and in Battery Park. Both places would be perfect proposal spots!
Winter Proposals in NYC
Winter in New York City is magical – which makes a winter proposal in NYC even more stunning! With the city decked out for the holidays, there are so many perfect places to propose. Kyler asked Hailey to be his wife in front of the Lotte New York Palace Christmas tree! Eric and Emily’s Rockefeller Center proposal was surrounded by sparkling lights and holiday spirit! Matt’s adorably sweet proposal to Kiki at Wollman Ice Rink was one of my favorites! Kiki had a little fall onto the ice while the couple was skating, and Matt took the opportunity to propose!
