Carly and Justin’s Asbury Park + Sandy Hook engagement session was one of my favorite winter sessions EVER! They braved the cold and windy New Jersey weather with me this past November and they looked amazing the whole time!! Despite the cold, the skies were a beautiful pastel color at sunset, which spread along Sandy Hook Beach, and it was seriously magical! Just take a look at this beautiful couple! We chose locations that were significant to Carly + Justin, starting with Asbury Park, where Justin popped the question!

To escape the cold, we stopped into the Asbury Park Convention Center for photos in front of the theatre and a nearby cafe for a warm drink, and these are some of my favorites from their engagement session! 

“He told me we were going to a bonfire on the beach in Asbury, our favorite spot!  It was a Friday night after a long week of work, and I was exhausted and never expected him to propose.  In the car on the way, he blindfolded me and told me we were taking a detour!  He brought me to the beach in Sea Girt, where he had a blanket and rose petals and wine set up.  Then, we went out to dinner and our entire families were there to celebrate with us!  Then we went out in Asbury for drinks and all of our friends were there to surprise us!  It was a magical night.”

Next, we drove over to Sandy Hook Beach, where we took photos of the two dancing on the sand and watching the sunset as it morphed the sky into a beautiful pastel canvas that was the perfect backdrop for this couple. And yes, they had the beach all to themselves!

Carlyann and Justin have been together for four years. They were born on the same day, in the same hospital, 3 hours apart!! “We didn’t realize this until we started dating when we were 25.  We like to say our first date was in the hospital nursery in 1992!” 

Soulmates? I’d say so!
